Just as crowd-funding has been changing the landscape of literature, crowd-researched science is changing our view of the stars. Astronomer Grace Wolf-Chase discusses her work at the Adler's Astronomy Department with Citizen Science. Together with Oxford, Adler is a leading institution in the development of the ‘Zooniverse’: https://www.zooniverse.org/ There are currently 40 or more citizen science projects (perhaps more aptly described as “Citizen Research”, since these projects span Astronomy, Physics, Biology,Zoology,  Social Science, Humanities…) Dr. Wolf-Chase has bee working on the Milky Way Project. Together with her ISU colleague Charles Kerton, they published a paper based on a discovery by Milky Way Project participants last year.
